Exterior Coatings Producer Blends Abrasives With No Shaft Seal Wear

When blending the coatings, ingredients are added to the 100 cu ft (2.8 cu m) ribbon blender in several steps. First, liquid acrylic polymer and water are metered by a pumping system. While the blender is running, 50 lb (23 kg) bags of pigments and fillers, together with various pre-weighed chemicals, are manually dumped into the blender. Next, pre-weighed aggregates are added from self-dumping hoppers using a forklift. Typically, the blend contains about 25% liquids and 75% solids.

Complete Bagging & Packaging Line for Cold Patch Asphalt

B Metcalf Paving has recently purchased an automated system for bagging and palletizing cold patch asphalt. The Incline Auger Packer gross weigh scale and TRP3000 Palletizer make operation simple and efficient.

With a single man operation the gross weigh scale will fill up to 3 bags per minute and with two operators the scale can fill up to 6 bags per minute, handling various bag types and sizes. Each bag is sealed, knocked down, and flattened before being sent to the TRP3000 palletizer to be picked and placed on the selected pallet stacking location.

Storage Hopper and Mass Flow Screw Feeder for Shredded Polypropylene and Fiberglass

Utilizing 3D parametric modeling, KWS provided a layout of their new production facility as the large hopper towered at a height of just over 21-feet. KWS designed the new hopper in small sections for easy installation in field, which would allow Hanwha Azdel to utilize cranes existing in the new facility by not exceeding load limits.KWS has extensive knowledge and experience with light density bulk materials such as polypropylene and fiberglass. Light density bulk materials can be difficult to store and meter due to bridging and ratholing. KWS designed the hopper and screw feeder using proven mass flow technologies.

Heavy Duty Slide Gates Equipped with Return Pans to Handle Industrial Sands

These pneumatically actuated Vortex Titan Slide Gates feature blades and inlet liners that are constructed of abrasion-resistant steel (400 BHN) to address wear from the material handled. Gates were manufactured with a fine material bonnet seal and return pans to assure that no silica dust can escape to atmosphere. The return pans provide conveyance transitioning from 22” square to 14” round. The special bolt-hole pattern of the 14” round flange mates directly to downstream equipment.

Wye Line Diverter Handling Sheet Metal Shavings in Vacuum System

In this application, Vortex Wye Line Diverters are included on a piece of equipment that acts as a multi-tool machine used for building airplane parts. As holes are drilled to fasten sheet metal, the diverter is used as part of a vacuum system to pull away shavings. The shavings are routed through the straight leg to reduce wear and the off leg pulls to clean air. The straight leg is opposite the air cylinder to fit better in the client’s process.
