In-Line Dilute Phase Vacuum Conveying for Conical Screen Mills

Conical Screen Mills (also referred to as Cone Mills) are gentle size reduction mills which are often used to precondition the material prior to its entry into a process, either by delumping or coarse size reduction. These mills utilize a rotating propeller/stationary screen combination to gently compress material against the screen wall and size the material accordingly. Vacuum conveying is often used to move material through the conical screen mill, help improve overall throughput of the process, contain dust or exposure, and also to assist in improvement of end product quality.

Tumbling Blends Herbal Supplements Five-Times Faster Than Agitating

Products are batched according to recipes that may contain between 15 to 60 raw materials, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes, RNA/DNA tissue factors, amino acids, and botanicals. Materials are reduced to the desired particle size in a hammer mill, transported in 44-gal (194 l) lined food-handling containers, and then gravity fed into the Rotary Batch Mixer, a 40 cuft (1132 l) model 700-TS-40-SS from Munson Machinery.

High Shear Mixing Technology for Manufacturing Tomato Paste and Sauces

The Quadro Ytron® has proven to work efficiently in creation of thicker and more dense tomato paste due to its capability of enabling the mixture to absorb more water in the fibres. It reduces the particle size(<0.033”) and significantly improves product texture for a better appearance of the paste. All of the work is done in a single pass eliminating any need to pass the product multiple times through the process to get better texture and reduced particle size.

4-Post Bulk Bag Filler for Carbon Black

Application Overview: Customer required a Bulk Bag Filling Station for their Carbon Black Pelletized Material. The Filling Station was to be located at the end of the customers Pellet Classifier Line. The material would be vacuum conveyed from the Pellet Classifier directly to a storage hopper located above the Filling Station. The NBE pneumatic slide gate mounted to the discharge of the customers storage hopper allowed for a direct feed into the Filling Station. The slide gate includes adjustable bulk/dribble feed positions to help achieve an accurate final target weight. The Filling Head Assembly included an infeed spout for material and an exhaust port for displaced air. The Fill Head Assembly with inflatable bag seal in conjunction with the bi-parting fill tube clamp provided dust tight filling. The NBE densification package with vibration cycles provides a stable final package. All equipment functions are handled through the operator touchscreen panel.

Distillery Turns Stillage Waste into Revenue with Centrifugal Sifter

Grains including wheat, rye, barley malt, oats, corn and triticale (a hybrid of wheat and rye), are ground to the consistency of coarse flour, then mixed with water, cooked, mashed and fermented. After fermentation, the strip run (first round of distillation) separates out the alcohol from the fermented mash. The remaining grain/water mixture called “stillage” consists of water containing 5 to 10 percent grain solids.

Efficient Batching and Transfer of Food Ingredients to Mixers: Majors, Minors and Micros

Whether produced by batch or continuous processes, many food products require the precise combination of several major and minor ingredients. Typically, major raw materials need to be conveyed from remote bulk storage and accurately weighed prior to an initial mixing operation. Often, at least some minor ingredients such as flavors or colors must also be weighed and introduced at this stage.
