Application Overview: A large bakery in the Midwest packaging cookies and crackers needed a regrind system for off-spec material for one of their cookie products. Cookies that are rejected from the packaging line for various reasons are collected in steel dough troughs. The dough troughs are brought over to the regrind system for processing. A NBE container discharger empty the troughs into a collection hopper with live bottom screw conveyor. This screw conveyor feeds the cookies into the crumbler which grinds the cookies down to a particle size distribution specified by the customer.
